Mandrake Root and Newt's Tongue Summary

Eragon awakes and feels safe in the crater of Farthen Dyr, but he also worries about Murtagh's fate. When he wakes, he looks up to see a cat enter the dragon hold. It is Solembum, who leads him out of the cave and down the mountain far into its inner parts and to a door that opens to reveal Angela, the fortuneteller and witch.

Angela greets Eragon and he tells her about Brom's fate, which is one that she foretold. She mentions that Brom's fate was one that was discussed by fortunetellers for his many failures and one success. His success was killing Morzan, which was a very good thing for him to do, but Brom failed in love and in guarding the egg and in completing Eragon's training.
