Hunting for Answers Summary

Eragon hurries through the underground passages thinking of the antidote he must secure for Arya to live. The walls are polished white, but the bald man in the robes is still in control and silences Eragon. The man tells Eragon to take all mental offenses from his mind as he begins to give him a mental probe.

The man insists on probing Eragon's mind, but Eragon insists that Arya's life be saved and the dwarf also insists over the objections of the man in the purple robes. The man relents and lets Arya go to the healer. The man realizes who Arya is and tells Eragon that he has much to explain. The bald man then begins his probe of Eragon.

The probe is intense and painful, and Eragon at first puts up defenses, which the bald man warned...
