Summary

In Chapter 33, “Rowan,” Rowan notices that Joe seems excited when he talks about the body. Joe says he cannot tell them the identity of the skeleton. He asks how they found him, and Rowan shows him the receipt. Rowan asks if Joe knows who “J. Goodhope” on the receipt is. Joe says he was named for Joseph Goodhope. James shows Joe a picture of William from an old high school yearbook. James confirms that William is his father, but that William changed his name to Daniel after leaving Tulsa for Kansas City. He says William dropped out of high school after the riot and left town. Joe says that Joseph was also a student in Tulsa and attended Booker T. High School. Joe then shows Rowan a picture of himself with Ruby, taken in 2001. James pulls up a picture of Joseph...
