Chapter 4 Summary

The next morning, Pickney wakes up Decker early and takes him to Bobby Clinch's funeral in order to allow Decker to see some of the local bass fishermen who will be in attendance. On the way, Decker tells Pickney how he spent ten months in jail for beating up a kid who was stealing his cameras. Turns out the kid was a local sports hero and his father had pull with the DA. This is why Decker no longer works for the newspaper. What Decker does not tell Pickney is that he decided to change occupations because he found that he had gotten to a point where he did not see the real world unless he was looking through the lens of a camera.
