Summary

In Chapter 25, Captain Cuttle wakes up early one morning to Rob Toodle knocking on his door. Rob tells Cuttle that Sol is gone and left him with a packet of papers marked “For Captain Cuttle” and a bundle of keys. Inside the packet is a will and testament and a note on the outside asking him not to open it unless a year has passed or Walter has been found. Sol also tells Cuttle not to come looking for him, that the debt to Dombey and Son is paid off, and to always remember him as a true friend. Cuttle worries that Sol has killed himself in his grief over Walter so he begins searching the city for Sol or his body.
