Chapters 11-14 Summary

In chapter 11, Odell and Richard dress as women as they travel to Texas to stake out a Denny's restaurant with Lamar and Ruta Beth. Lamar and Ruta Beth go into the restaurant to check it out for a possible robbery while Odell and Richard wait in the car. A police officer approaches the car while the men are alone, thinking they are old women trapped in a hot car with the windows closed. Ruta Beth comes out and convinces the cop that her old aunt is senile and rolled up the window by accident. Lamar got enough information from the incident, however, to feel safe in planning the robbery for the following weekend. In chapter 12, Bud is back in the hospital having his wounds closed again.
