Summary

Greg’s school has been on a health kick in preparation for the Presidential Fitness Test, getting rid of soda machines, and replacing cafeteria items like French Fries with things like sliced carrots, and chocolate chip cookies with oatmeal raisin cookies. Energy drinks such as Rowdy Riot are also banned. Leon Goodson sneaks a pack of Rowdy Riot to school and sells cans to the other kids for three bucks each, but is caught by recess monitor Mrs. Lahey. Greg doesn’t think the school is helping kids stay in shape by having taken away the playground equipment.

Greg still needs money for Net Kritterz, but his mom refuses to give him any. She also says that he will have to use his own money to buy other people gifts this year so that the gifts “mean” something. Greg feels bad for people...
