Summary

Greg Heffley does not look forward to the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas because it always makes him nervous as he struggles to be on his best behavior. He knows Santa is watching, and wants to receive as many presents as possible. Greg always takes great pains to see what gifts his parents have bought him, from opening them early to snooping around online. For Christmas this year, Greg hopes his parents will purchase Kritterz Kash, so Greg can take care of his online pet Chihuahua on Net Critterz. He doesn’t know what else to ask for yet.

Greg’s mom keeps an old elf doll out on a shelf, telling Greg the elf is a scout for Santa. It creeps Greg out, especially because the doll is always in a new place. He suspects it might be his older brother Rodrick...
