Johnny

Johnny is sixteen years old. The past few years have been rough since his father died, and he had to step up and keep the household running while his mother slipped into a depression. The stress got to him and he developed a drinking habit, which he has now kicked.

Johnny makes sense of his world through music. Growing up, he had been into Goth, but he has since discovered Blondie. Johnny is sensitive and he longs to be strong and tough like Debbie Harry. He is in love with his girlfriend Maria, and over the course of the story, he discovers that he likes dressing up as a woman; he wants to feel beautiful.

Johnny is a good kid and he is used to being harassed at school. He takes it all in stride and doesn't let it get to him personally.
