Chapter 10

In Johnny's dream, Debbie Harry tells him to tell Maria his feelings. He wakes up in the middle of the night and feels it is imperative that he tell Maria right now. When he arrives at her place, he finds Ben and the two kids he saw at the record store looking into Maria's window. Johnny gets in a fight with one of them, his first physical fight ever, and soon, Maria is on the porch sending the guys away and inviting Johnny in. Maria's father works nights and her mother lives in Manhattan.

As Maria tends to his wounds, Johnny tells her he has feelings for her. Maria is surprised since she thought he was gay, along with the rest of the school. But she is happy to learn that he isn't gay, since Maria likes Johnny too. They...
