A Ruined Reputation Summary

Jacob Todd is pleased that everything has worked out for Paulina and Feliciano. He only wishes he were as lucky, but Rose still continues to rebuff his romantic advances. His life now is spent in the company of intellectuals, where he befriends an impassioned young man named Joaquin Andieta, a worker at Jeremy Sommers' import office.
