Josephine

Josephine is the youngest of the Leonides’ clan. She turns out to be the one who killed both Aristide, her grandfather, and Nannie, who cared for the family and kept the house in order. From their first meeting, Charles describes Josephine as being ugly and unpleasant. She is also highly intelligent and likes to listen in on adult conversations. She gathers what she hears and claims to be doing her own amateur detective work. She is of the opinion that the police are doing a bad job at investigating her grandfather’s murder and that they are stupid because they have not picked up on the identity of the killer.
