Love

Love is an important theme in the novel “City of Lost Souls” by Cassandra Clare. The form of love dealt with in the novel is principally romantic and affects various characters in different ways, with each character in turn affecting the plot of the novel and the series.

The most prominent and striking representation of romantic love in the novel comes through Jace and Clary. Jace and Clary have been dating through several books, with their feelings for one another increasing in each successive book. Jace explains that he has fallen in love with Clary for many reasons, including her bravery.
