Chapters 1-4 Summary

Chapter 1 introduces the main character of the story, Victoria. Her day begins with checking several online news stories. When she gets to school, she keeps to herself. She describes herself as having a shaved head, many earrings, colored-in eye brows and pale skin. Today she dresses in a long, white cloak, white pants and a white shirt. Victoria has made herself look like her favorite Sci-Fi character, Egg. She has a brief conversation with a new boy in class before heading to the movie theater to see her favorite movie, Terminal Earth, starring Zach Cross as Uno and Saba Greer as Egg. Once home, she and her mom, a currently out-of-work actress- have a small argument about why Victoria, who insists that people call her Egg, doesn't answer her cell phone.
