Tommy breaks down and confesses his loneliness to Jody, explaining why he put her in the freezer. They confess their love for each other and go to bed together. Jody falls asleep fearing that she will lose Tommy, after finally finding love. The next night, when she wakes, Jody tells Tommy that the vampire threatened to kill him. She tasks him with killing the vampire during the day. She tells him that the vampire killed Simon to egg Tommy on. Tommy also lies to her, telling her that he freed Scott and Zelda.
