Chapters 55 and 56 Summary

On Kang's ship, the engineers go over the readings, and everything looks like the launch will proceed as planned. On the platform, Dirk Pitt, Sr. unties his son, and Jack and they go to work to try to stop the launch and save the prisoners. The shed door must be broken off, so Pitt uses the small, motorized platform that Jack had driven earlier to break open the door, and the crew is saved. Pitt and the captain of the Odyssey try to stop the lunch, but discover that Kang's team has destroyed the computers, making that impossible. Everyone, but Dirk Pitt, Sr., squeezes into the gondola, and the blimp.....
