Chapter 52 Summary

On the nearby Deep Endeavor, the destruction of the Narwhal is witnessed by Dirk Pitt, Jr., who recognizes the transformed Baekje. Unfortunately, there's not much the NUMA ship can do, because it is an unarmed research vessel. Tongju, who is still on the Odyssey platform, has observed the destruction then turns his attention to the last minute details of the devious plot. He has the prisoners transferred to a nearby shed, so that they will be killed from the rocket's blasting off. Then, he goes into the control room and destroys the key computer components so that anyone who may end up on the platform prior to the launch will not be able to stop it.
