Chapter 51 Summary

The Deep Endeavor, finished inspecting one inbound ship, decides to go observe the platform. Three miles away, the Coast Guard vessel Narwhal approaches the platform to inspect it and notices the giant numbers on the countdown clock. It tries to radio the platform, but there is no response. Then the reader listens in on a call to the Sea Launch Director of Information in California from the Coast Guard central dispatch. The Coast Guard asks for the location of the Odyssey, and the Sea Launch Director responds that the Odyssey should be headed to the equator, confirming that it is not where it is supposed.....
