Chapter 37 Summary

The first chapter of Part Three opens in Long Beach, California. Danny Stamp is in charge of preparing an oceangoing vessel for departure. The vessel is called the Odyssey, and it is an offshore oil rig that has been transformed into an ocean based rocket launching structure. Reconfigured for the telecommunications industry, the Odyssey is designed to sail from California to the equator, where satellite-dispensing rockets can be launched and sent into orbit with maximum efficiency. Stamp is the one in charge of preparing the vessel for its next excursion, which is to send a rocket into the atmosphere to release a Kang Enterprises telecommunications satellite into orbit. In Korea, Kang is reviewing the last minute plans in his plot, and the reader is given a glimpse into the upcoming action......
