Chapter 33 Summary

At the NUMA headquarters, Rudi Gunn is frustrated in learning that the Baekje seems to have disappeared, along with Dirk Pitt, Jr. and Summer. Although they are able to track down its history and ownership, they are at a loss to pinpoint its current location. Meanwhile, in Korea, Dirk and Summer prepare for a meeting with Kang. Dirk does his best to bluff Kang into revealing part of his plot. Although Kang never states the target, he does tell Dirk and Summer about the super-virus that his scientist has created, and he goes on to tell them that his part of plan is to see the American military out of South Korea at which time the North Korean army can overrun South Korea within three days.
