Grave Digging; Waist Deep; Melting; When the Saints Go Marching In Summary

"Grave Digging" takes place on December 7. Lena and Ethan go to the cemetery with Aunt Del and one of Lena's cousins, Reece. Lena pleads with Aunt Del to show her what's in the grave. Through Aunt Del, they see the woman named Ivy dropping the book into the grave atop Genevieve's casket. Aunt Del says the book belongs to Genevieve but Genevieve tells them that Ethan and Lena are trying to right a wrong, and that they should take it. They dig it up.

Ethan says it's obvious the book is Dark. It takes his breath away and singes his hands each time he touches it. Lena erases Reece's and Aunt Del's memories and they head back to Ravenwood.
