Relationships

One of the primary themes running through "Ancient Light" is relationships. The two primary relationships the novel tackles are romantic relationships and friendships.

The novel touches upon the romantic relationships that exist between Alexander and Mrs. Gray, as well as the one that exists between Mr. and Mrs. Gray. First, it reveals how Alexander feels that Celia Gray is the one and only woman that he has ever truly loved and that has truly loved him.
