Churchyard

Alexander is standing in the churchyard when "Ancient Light" opens. This is where he sees a woman riding a bicycle. He comes to think this woman is Mrs. Gray. This is where he is standing when Alexander first comes to appreciate a woman's body, as the clothing the woman is wearing is billowing in the wind and revealing her flesh and undergarments below.

Cotter's Place

Cotter's place is an old decrepit house that used to belong to the Cotter family. The Cotter house is in the woods. Alexander and Billy first discover the property and consider using it as a fort. Later, Alexander and Mrs. Gray use it for their trysts.
