Summary

In Chapter 14, Palmer felt reassured by Josie’s reaction to seeing him in the restaurant. It did worry him, however, that Josie seemed so proud of her hometown of Seattle. When Palmer arrived back in Seattle, he was surprised to learn that Jack had been seeing the sights with Josie over the past three days. Jack finally shared that Josie had quit her job because she was so unhappy with the way Anton was treating her. Jack also said he suspected Anton had been putting pressure on Josie that had nothing to do with cooking.

Palmer was angry because there was a possibility that Anton had been sexually harassing Josie, but he also hoped that her unhappiness with the job might work in his favor. Josie had plans with her girlfriends that evening but she stopped by Palmer and Jack’s hotel...
