Peter Guillam

Peter Guillam is a retired British secret service agent forced to give an accounting of his actions in one of the most deadly operations of the service during the cold war. Peter lost not only a friend and colleague during this operation but also the woman whom he believed that he loved. He serves as the narrator of the novel and is also the person around whom the action revolves. Peter is called to the service for interrogation because the children of Alec and Liz, two people killed in the course of Windfall have considered suing the service for the wrongful deaths of their parents.
