Summary

Peter is interviewed by his lawyer, given only the name Tabitha, in the library at the Stables. She points out how all of the agents and sub-agents with the Mayflower network had been arrested, executed or had gone missing. Peter thinks to himself about the deaths of the spies and how he and the other workers with Windfall had never been sure if Mundt was working for them or against them. They were getting intelligence from Mundt, but he did not seem to be able to stop Fiedler’s killing of Covert’s agents. Mundt claimed he had no option but to appear fervent about killing spies.
