Gwendolyn

Gwendolyn is the heroine of this novel as she leads an investigation, along with the help of her brother, Godfrey, in freeing their half-brother, Kendrick from jail. Kendrick has been framed by their other brother, Gareth, for the murder of their father, the king. Gwen and Godfrey question Steffen about the murder weapon but he refuses to give them any information. Steffen later saves Gwen when she is attacked by Gareth’s dog. He also hands over the murder weapon and apologizes for not answering her questions earlier. Gwen is attacked earlier by the same man but she is able to fend him off with the help of Estopheles, a bird whom she believes that her father sent to help her. Although she does not want to, Gwen goes to her mother for help in getting Kendrick out of jail. Gwen believes that her words have no effect...
