Chapter 23, Catelyn Summary
Catelyn Stark is riding south with some guards from Winterfell. Robb Stark has convinced her to meet with Renly Baratheon. All his messages to Lysa Arryn went unanswered, so they will not have assistance there. Robb has told her that the men need to fight; otherwise, they will grow restless and want to return to their homes. Catelyn wishes her father could have gone, but he is too sick. Catelyn and her party arrive at his camp, and she sees the tens of thousands of men in Renly's army. She meets with Renly and his new wife, Margaery Tyrell Baratheon, who are watching the knights fight each other in a tourney. Catelyn is surprised to see the knight who wins the battle is a woman, Brienne Tarth. Renly allows Brienne to join his Rainbow Guard. Renly tells Catelyn he will see there is justice done for the murder of her...
