Summary

In Chapter 14, Jake went to a satellite electronics store and had the owner make two bugged lamps that he could place in the apartments in which Oswald would be living. He described the poverty of the neighborhood to which Oswald would bring his wife and new baby when they first arrived in America. He bribed the woman who lived in that apartment to let him know when she moved out. When he returned home he found a note on his door from Sadie asking him to call her.

Because Coach Borman, who was supposed to help her chaperone the Sadie Hawkins dance, had a sickness in the family, Sadie asked Jake if he would help her out with the responsibility. He agreed.
