William Averell Harriman
He was the British immigrant son of a railway tycoon born on November 15, 1891 and grew up in New York City. He became a member of Skull and Bones at Yale and spent a lot of time negotiating various issues with Stalin, Trotsky, and Khrushchev.
He was the son of a minister born on April 11, 1893, in Middletown, Connecticut. Prior to World War II, he accepted a position as Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs and after World War II became Under Secretary of State and helped to formulate the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine.
