Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

Jeannette Walls - This individual is also the narrator of the book and grew up in a household in which poverty and neglect were the norm.

Rose Mary Walls - This individual is a teacher who grew up in a very strict family in Arizona. As a result, this character does not provide any parental structure or discipline for the children.
