1. Describe the area where Mother and Father are buried.

Mother and Father are buried in the back yard of the house Goolrick purchased for them, in the rose garden. There is a unicorn status on top of a marble pastry board on top of the area in which they are buried, to mark where their ashes have been laid to rest.

2. Explain who Sam Weller is, and what happens to him.

Sam Weller is the dog that belongs to Father. When Father passes, a young man from the neighborhood arrives and asks if he would be able to take and care for the dog, and Goolrick agrees, knowing he does not have room for the animal.

3. Explain why Goolrick is surprised at his emotions following his father's death.

Goolrick admits he hated his father. He had believed that, when his father died, he would feel nothing but joy. Instead, what he felt was grief, hatred, and anger. He had hoped, he said, that the demons would go away with his father's death, but they did not.
