Robin de Bureford

This character is the 10-year-old protagonist in the story. This character is stricken with a debilitating illness that leaves his legs paralyzed soon after his mother and father are both called into the service of the King and Queen. This character is left in the care of monks, who teach him reading, writing, science, carpentry, and other skills. By the end of the novel, this character makes his way to safety following siege of his new home and finds help to save the castle.
