Wakefield High School

This place is the primary setting for a large portion of the novel. In nearly all respects, this place is a typical four-year school. The school counselor is DeMouy, who has a profound effect on Steve's life by allowing him to make up a missing English credit and therefore be able to graduate.

Grace High School

This is where Steven York completed his freshman, sophomore, and junior years. The school is the primary setting for a large portion of the novel. The school's motto is "Home of the Buccaneers," and the school is a typical four-year high school in nearly all respects.
