Objective

Prologue | Chapters 1-5

Early in the book, the reader realizes that Rachel and her father have a strained relationship. In fact, the Senator's insistence that Rachel quit a job she loves shows how selfish and questionable his motives are. This lesson will discuss the nature of the strained relationship between Rachel and her father.

Lesson

1. Group Activity: Have the class split into groups of four and create a list of the descriptions given to describe Rachel's relationship with her father. After creating the list, have one person from each group share findings with the rest of class.
