Character Descriptions

Socrates Fortlow - He was introduced to violence at an early age by his abusive father. Once his father passed away, he and his mother lost there home and often went without meals.

Darryl - He is a 14-year-old boy on a path to trouble. He is hungry for food, guidance and love. Under the circumstances, the odds are stacked against him.

Right Burk - He is an elderly man whose injuries from war have left him partially paralyzed. He lives in a retirement home of sorts in the same poverty stricken neighborhood that Socrates lives in.

Theresa - She suffered mentally every time Socrates came to her battered and bruised. Although she tried to get Socrates to straighten up his life, she was unsuccessful.

Luvia - She is very charitable and caring. She gives more than she takes in and ends up relying on church donations...
