What does the setting tell us about the type of story that will be told? What does the setting say about the types of characters that will be involved?

2. In small groups of four using a writing log: Where is the setting? What time in history is it? How will that period of history possibly affect the plot? How does the geography of a story affect plot? characters? tone?
