A Dark Event in Africa under Colonialism

When people speak of education it is generally regarded that education is beneficial to all persons involved with it. However in the case of Africa, this is not necessarily the truth. In Africa, Western education was forced upon the native people.
The Africans already had a system of educating their youths in place before the coming
of the Europeans to Africa. Generally, the purpose of Western education is seen as to
benefit the Africans. The truth is different. Europeans educated Africans solely for the
ability to exploit these people of their labor and intellect. Western education for Africans
during the colonial period was not beneficial to the Africans, and was actually destructive
