Point of View

The novel is written in third person from several perspectives, focusing on different characters at different times. The main characters for the focus are Merthin, Caris, Gwenda, Ralph, and Godwyn, and the majority of the events in the novel are explained from their perspectives. The varying perspective is necessary because of the sheer scope of the novel, spanning several decades and set in several specific places.
