Chapters 4-6 Summary

In chapter four, Eve Dallas and Delia Peabody interview Michael Proctor, Richard Draco's understudy. Proctor is handsome and obviously worships Draco. The actor explains that even though Draco is dead, it is a thrill to step into his place and play his role, regardless of how long.

Dallas and Peabody discuss the naïve actor and the fact that he may have killed Draco to take his coveted role, though he seems innocent. While they discuss options, Eve takes a call from Nadine Furst, her friend and a reporter for channel 75. Eve believes Nadine wants an exclusive, but the woman begs to meet with Eve about something personal.
