Chapters 4 through 7 Summary

In Chapter 4, Keenan's mother is Beira, the Winter Queen. She has bound his power as the Summer King so that her own reign my last longer. Keenan is tired of his mother's game, but he knows that the only way to end it is to play along, and hope that the next girl is the right one. Beira keeps a Victorian house on a nice estate, where she keeps up the illusion of a normal family. Keenan tells his mother that one day he'll find the right girl, and he will be free. When that day comes, her reign will be over. Beira touches him and infuses him with the cold of winter, then puts him to sleep. For now, the Winter Queen has the power.
