Point of View

When Stars Are Scattered is a graphic memoir, written from the first person point of view of Omar Mohamed, who is also the main protagonist and one of the authors of the memoir. The memoir starts with several pages of memoir but without any formal title, to have the reader emerge onto the scene. Chapter 1 then begins on page 12, as Omar slowly explains his life to the reader. The authors also refrain from explaining his background too in depth, waiting until Chapter 12 to tell the rest of Omar’s story in order to make this the penultimate climax. In the beginning, Omar’s point of view centers around his brother and care for his brother.
