Summary

In Chapter 4, Luke received a printed letter from Natalie titled “Day 34.” Natalie wrote that she did not have the energy to write by hand anymore and that she knew she would soon be gone. She told Luke he had to reach out to a college student she was friends with called Jessie Fraga. She wanted him to hire her to help with the children. She told him she was 21 but that she had been through a lot in her life, having suffered from chronic kidney disease since she was a child. Luke invited Jessie over to interview her. He was worried about what she would think of all the mess but she did not seem to notice. When Clayton woke up, Luke brought him down to meet her.
