Summary

Chapter 14 – Tobias shoots at an abby from a distance, misses twice, and then kills it. It is his forty-fifth kill. But a chorus of screams rings out, and a pack of abbies give Tobias chase. He takes cover –and twenty-five abbies begin circling, looking for him. As darkness falls, the herd settles in for sleep for the night. That night, Tobias dreams of ruined Seattle. In ruined Seattle is a monstrous hive constructed by the abbies. They are building something of a civilization. In the morning, the abbies are gone. He then continues on.
