Summary

Part 2, Chapter 3 gives more information about Ally and Joe’s relationship. They use YAD activities as a cover for their meetings. Joe is a developer and architectural preservationist. Ally often complains to Joe about her mother. Ally considers escalating her relationship with Joe, but she also worries about her mother finding out. In Part 3, Chapter 1, Sam becomes increasingly anxious about Ally’s refusal to be in contact with her. Sam drives past Ally’s school, hoping to see her, but then Sam gives up in this plan. In Part 3, Chapter 2, Ally recalls going through puberty. After Ally’s body began to change, Sam urged Ally to wear non-revealing clothing.
