Summary

Chapter 21 is titled “Super Aquaman.” Marc says he has become comfortable in the water, that he swims across the river easily and without fear, and that he can even swim about halfway across while underwater. However, the day comes when Jake says it is time for Marc to jump off the bridge. Marc's first reaction is panic. He says he would rather just swim, but Jake insists. Marc knows that he swims well enough now so that he is ready to make the jump, but he is too afraid to think it will be fun. Marc climbs onto the bridge, then climbs over the railing to the appropriate place. Marc's fear keeps him from jumping or even speaking. Jake climbs onto the bridge with Marc.
