Summary

Nathaniel began to think about The Darter, whom he had not seen in years, and he took walks up and down the Thames along the spots where he and The Darter had smuggled dogs. Nathaniel had learned lock-picking skills form an associate of The Darter, and he decided to use those skills to secretly access files pertaining to his mother’s espionage work. Following the attempted kidnapping and the consequent death of The Moth, Rachel had developed a personal hatred towards her mother and permanently distanced herself from Rose. Rachel even permanently rejected all uses of her nickname 'Wren,' which her mother had given her. One day, Nathaniel left work early to attend a theatrical performance in which Rachel was acting. Following the performance, he went to her dressing room. Rachel revealed that she had a son that she had named it Walter...
