Summary

In Chapter 27 (page 139) Mary is trying to figure out how to coax Eden into having sex so she can claim the child as his and he would stay. On a particular busy day between teaching aerobics at the gym and handling important errands, she became nauseous, passes out and hits her head. The gym owner drives her to the hospital, over her protest. The doctor examines her and notes she is pregnant. As a dependent, her husband has been notified of her arrival at the naval hospital, and they are required to update him on her condition. The doctor informs Mary of an abortion clinic nearby, and on her way home, Mary drives to the address and stops, but does not go in. It was late before she arrives home to see Eden.
