Part 1, Vixen 03: Chapters 6-10 Summary

Loren has to return to Washington, D.C., but Pitt decides to stay behind and continue looking for the plane crash. A few days after Loren leaves, Colonel Abe Steiger arrives at the cabin. Steiger is on his way through Colorado to a speech he is scheduled to give in Illinois, so he thought he would stop by and see what Pitt has found. Pitt invites Steiger to stay with him. The following day, Pitt and Steiger go their own ways. Pitt searches a nearby valley while Steiger pans for gold at Table Lake. Pitt joins Steiger when his search fails to yield anything.
