Summary

In Chapter 7, Valencia imagined that her coworkers were talking about her. She received a call from James Mace, who was in debt. He had forgotten his credit card, but continued to speak on the phone with Valencia to ask about her. In Chapter 8, Mrs. Valentine reflected on meeting Mr. Valentine on her birthday. She had taken a spontaneous trip to New York. While avoiding a mugger, a biker ran her over. The biker apologized. A nearby busker asked Mrs. Valentine out to pizza.

In Chapter 9, Valencia had a nightmare and went to work early. She brainstormed in her notepad about how to talk to people. She had a difficult time calming down after speaking with a rude person on the phone. Peter asked if she was okay. She received a call from James Mace, who wanted to give Valencia another break from work...
